ABOUT THE TEAM OF BARRETT-MARUGG

 

Dick and Brian are pseudonyms for Dick and Brian. Many years ago, in a galaxy far, far away (known to astronomers as Pasadena, California) they made a decision to share their lives and each pledged to remain partners and life mates "forever and a day". Only slightly more than 30 years have passed since those promises were made and since gay relationships are notoriously fickle, it's impossible to say whether they will remain true to their commitment or not. It does look as though their relationship will endure for at least the next century.

The secret to the success of their partnership lies in the way they've divided and shared their responsibilities. Brian is in charge of all the minor decisions the team is called upon to make, like where they will live, where and whether they will work, what they do in their spare time and how they spend their money. Dick handles the major decisions like what religion to raise their dogs in, what color socks to wear on their days off and whether to use butter or margarine on their morning waffles.

Each year, for the past 13 years, Brian has participated in the annual AIDS bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to help raise money for the fight against AIDS. Each year for the past 13, Dick has done the hard work by remaining at home and providing the moral support that is so important to any successful venture.

Dick and Brian were finally married in Van Nuys, California on June 21st 2008 after living together for 33 years. They currently make their home in Southern California.
